Hockey

Congratulations to the following hockey players on their selection into the 2022 Waikato Hockey U18 Women’s Team.

They are joined by Old Girl Aleksia Junge (Class of 2021).

1st X1 Hockey dress presentation

Our 1st XI Hockey team was presented their dresses before their first game of the season. This was a special acknowledgement of the honour of being selected into our 65th 1st XI team. The presentation was led by our new coaching team Carla Johl and Kim Herewini (née Tanner) who are both Old Girls and have also proudly worn the dress.

The team capped off the night with a 7-0 win against Hauraki!

Rowing

A huge congratulations to coxswain Alice Mackintosh on her selection into the North Island U18 Rowing Team. Alice was also been named Captain of the team!

The team has trained together and then competed in the North vs South Regatta at Lake Karapiro over the holidays.

Awesome work Alice!

Swimming

Three of our swimmers represented their clubs at the 2022 Apollo New Zealand Age Group Swimming Championships and gained some outstanding results!

Sophie Hay - Year 11 - 15-year girls

  • 1500 freestyle - 3rd - Bronze
  • 800 freestyle - 3rd - Bronze
  • 4 x 100 under 15yr girls relay - 3rd - Bronze
  • 400 Free - 5th
  • 400 IM - 5th

Hayley McIntyre - Year 10 - 13-year girls

  • 1500 freestyle - 2nd - silver
  • 800 freestyle - 2nd - silver
  • 400 free - 5th
  • 400 IM - 5th
  • 100 fly - 10th

Paige Stringer - Year 9 - 13-year girls

  • 200 backstroke - 3rd - bronze
  • 4 x 100 under 15yr girls relay - 3rd - Bronze
  • 100 backstroke - 5th

Recently two of our students also competed at the Division 2 Swim Championships in Dunedin. Congratulations on the results highlighted below:

Water Polo

The Water Polo season wrapped up at the start of this term and both our teams had a great season under the guidance of Jamie Campbell who has returned to coaching at Dio.

Our Senior A finished 3rd and our Development team were 5th equal.

Well done to all who were involved in representing us so well.

Upcoming Events

We are thrilled to be hosting Auckland Diocesan this Monday 23 May for our annual Sports and Cultural Exchange. It has been a long time coming to have them here on our home turf and we can’t wait!
