The AGM for the Association was held on 12 April via an online platform, and we had a wonderful response from parents willing to get to know the Association and its role within the school and wanting to be involved where they could.
As already communicated, we have a new Treasurer and Secretary elected, along with roles filled for Proprietor’s Board Representative, Boarder Parent Representatives, Stock Scheme Coordinator, Hospitality Coordinators, and our Bear Scheme Coordinator. Thank you to these people. Thank you also to the many other parents willing to be part of the Association or a Friend of the Association.
Being part of the Association gives insight into what the Association is engaging in to support the school, in funding applications, teacher wish lists, fundraising for projects, and for good communication between the management team, the teachers, and the students. Representatives from these groups regularly attend meetings and are part of the Association’s decision processes.
Friends of the Association are people willing to be called upon from time to time to help with specific tasks (events, seeking sponsorship, passing on information to the wider community, and promotion of the school). We can have many people on this list of supporters and would welcome new people who might be interested in learning about the Association before committing to be involved.
While enjoying such lovely weather and a bit of a bumpy start to the 2022 academic year, I would like to acknowledge all the people who are involved with the burden of operating a school in difficult times. Management staff have had to adapt to changing plans at the 11th hour to fit new imposed criteria. Communication staff have had to put out information quickly and widely to make sure our community know what to expect. Teaching staff have had to work from many platforms from week to week, whilst managing their own family lives. All this is not gone unnoticed. We appreciate the tasks you have had to do and, thank you for your continued commitment.
A big thank you on behalf of the parent community to the management staff, the teaching staff, the boarding team, the catering staff, property staff, and support staff.
Thank you also to the Dio families going along on this ride with us.
