Phones Away for the Day

Dio CommunicationsFebruary 21, 2024

As of next Thursday, 29 February, all Dio students (years 9 to 13) must put their phones away for the day under the new Government regulations where students cannot use or access their phones while attending school, including break times

The boards of all State and State-Integrated schools must prohibit students from using or accessing mobile phones at all times while they are attending school.

Students must turn off their phones before they enter the school grounds and put them away in their bags for the day. *Occasionally, a teacher may determine that a student needs to use or access a mobile phone for a specific educational task or purpose.

Parents/caregivers must contact their daughter's year-level Dean should their daughter need to use their phone to support a specific learning or medical need. Exemption cards will be issued.
