The Dio 1st XI cricket team has again qualified for the Nationals in December after a convincing showing at the Northern District qualifier.
The team played three qualifying games.
1st game out was against Gisborne Girls' High School
2nd game was against Tauranga Girls' College
3rd game was against Cambridge High School
All three games showcased Dio's outstanding batting, fielding and bowling.
Thank you to the coaches and the many supporters on the sidelines. All the very best for next month's nationals, team!

Football News
Dio Year 12 student Zoë Fon competed in The Australian National Titles (CFFA) annual football tournament as the youngest member of the New Zealand Cross Whites Women’s Football team. NZ Cross Whites are part of SoccerPlus NZ (Christian Football Ministry). Successful selection is made after seven trials and two camps.
Hockey News
Dio students recently played in the 2022 National Maaori Tournament in Nelson. We are so proud of the following achievements:
Dio students Addison Carruthers, Addison McLeod, Lucy Hadley, and Lily Simmons played in the North Harbour u16 Fast Five Hockey Tournament.
Some of our talented students represented Waikato at the Australian U15 Lacrosse Nationals in Perth during the last week of Term 3, placing 2nd in the competition!
Congratulations, Claire Johnstone, Sienna Meinung, Nicole Hollands, Iona Martynoga, Zoe ter Beek, and Keira Lloyd.
Congratulations, Bianca Alcock, on winning the New Zealand Ladies F/J Squash Championship title for 2022 at the Graded Champs in Invercargill at the end of October. Bianca won all three matches 3-0!
The E-grade player also represented Waikato playing for Hamilton Squash Club in the F/J grade Super Champs in Ashburton at the end of September. The team came home in 4th spot. Bianca also won the Waikato Junior Girls' Graded Championships.
Dio climbing superstar, Renna Park, was part of the Climbing New Zealand team that competed in the Nouméa International Climbing Open in New Caledonia. She competed in the U18 women's category and placed 2nd in bouldering and 2nd in lead climbing. What an amazing experience to wear the black singlet and be part of an international event. Congratulations, Renna.
NZ Surf Life Saving National Pool Rescue Championships
On the 8th & 9th of October, Hayley McIntyre competed in the NZ Surf Life Saving Pool Rescue NZ Championships in Auckland.
She raced in everything from Swimming with Obstacles, Line Throw, Manikin Carry, and Manikin Tow alongside some of the country's top surf lifesaving athletes.
Hayley is part of the Omanu Surf Club and was also part of their U17 Girls' Relay Team. Her team swam an outstanding race in the U17 Girls' 4 x 25m Manikin Relay to take gold and be crowned the NZ Champions!
Congratulations to the talented Kate Findlay on her selection for the TouchNZ Under 18 Women’s team.
