Please take the time to read the following key information ahead of House Singing on Friday 23 June.
Time: The programme begins at 6.30 pm and ends at approximately 9.30 pm.
Student Reporting Time: All students must report to their House Leaders by 6.00 pm for a full House warm-up. Students must enter the arena via Entry 1 and the auditorium via Door C.
Venue: Claudelands Arena, Entry 5, Claudelands Events Centre, Corner of Brooklyn Road and Heaphy Terrace, Claudelands, Hamilton. Auditorium entry for the audience will be via Doors B (downstairs), I, and K (upstairs)
Parking: Onsite Parking will be through Gate 3 Brooklyn Road and costs $5.00 per vehicle. Street parking is free. Please allow time to get through peak hour traffic!
Accessibility car parks: Some parks are available via Gate 1, Heaphy Terrace, approximately 80 metres from the Arena Plaza. Accessibility seating is available through Door B. Please let the usher know if you require accessibility seating.
Transport: Boarders’ transport has been communicated by Boarding. Parents of day girls are responsible for organising their daughters' transportation to and from the event. *Students must be collected in person from the foyer/concourse area if their ride home is not attending the event.
Refreshments: Concession stands will be open to guests from 5.15 pm - 6.20 pm. There are many items available, including healthier options and non-alcoholic beverages. Only food purchased on-site may be consumed at the venue. Please do not bring commercial food or drink into the venue (i.e. McDonald's). Bag checks will take place by Claudelands security.
Seating: External doors open at 5.15 pm, Internal doors will open at approximately 6.00 pm. Guests will need to be seated by 6.25 pm. Please bring your printed tickets or ensure they are easily accessible on your mobile device. These will be checked at the door.
Tickets: $30.00 can be purchased from our school website https://www.waikatodiocesan.school.nz/events/ NO REFUNDS.
(Current Dio students do not need to purchase a ticket if they are in uniform and sitting in their respective house areas).
Uniform: Students are to wear regular school winter uniform and observe dress code guidelines as per the school handbook. Students perform in their long sleeve shirts without blazers or jerseys but will need to wear their blazers to and from the event.
Attendance: A reminder to parents that all students are required to attend House Singing as this is considered a half day in our school timetable, and a roll will be taken on the night. House Singing is a significant and much-anticipated event in the school year.
