In upcoming DioNews issues, we will profile different staff and community members to introduce you to the individuals who make up your school community.
Kia ora, my name is Susi, and I have been the elected staff representative since 2019, representing the interests of all staff at Dio. As a teacher of Classical Studies and Economics, I am passionate about learning and teaching and making connections with our ākonga. As a School Board member, I aim to ensure a voice for staff in governance matters impacting the Kura and encapsulating the spirit of whanaungatanga and kotahitanga.
Kia ora, my name is Stacey Stewart, and I am the new Head of English at Waikato Diocesan. Originally from North Waikato, I now call Hamilton home, where I live with my husband Keegan and our two preschool-aged daughters, Delilah and Clementine, who fill our lives with much joy and adventure. I am honoured to join the outstanding staff at Waikato Diocesan and eager to work alongside our fantastic English Department as we traverse the current shifts within the educational landscape in Aotearoa. At the heart of my role is equipping the young women of Waikato Diocesan with the essential communication, critical thinking, and language skills they need to thrive in and beyond school. I believe in sparking passion, academic excellence, curiosity, and empathy through studying diverse, challenging, and culturally responsive texts, all while ensuring teaching and learning is underpinned by exceptional pedagogical approaches.
