Ruby Wilson and Ahreen de Vries started their Equine Gateway work placement today at The Oaks Stud in Cambridge. The students had a busy day, including an induction, learning about different types of feeds and why they are important, cleaning out stables and how to do this correctly, assisting with vaccinations, and scanning a mare in foal.

As part of their programme, the students will also complete practical Equine NCEA unit standards to be assessed on the job.
