From the Parents' Association

Anna SinclairApril 8, 2024

As term one draws to a close, we are getting ready to hold our AGM. This is being held tonight (Thursday, 11 April) at 6:00 pm in the Hubbard room (take the River Road entrance and enter via reception).

Everyone is welcome, and it's a great way to get involved, meet other parents and give back.

We are still looking for a treasurer. If you are a numbers wizard and want to get involved, we would love to have you.

Some of the activities that we are involved with during the rest of the year are:

  • Providing refreshments at the teacher interviews
  • Organising a guest speaker evening for parents
  • A Mother/Daughter event
  • We provide tea and coffee at House Chapel Services, allowing parents to mix and mingle.
  • Investigating a ‘Dio Dinners’ scheme where Dio families in need are provided meals due to health or circumstances.

We would love to have your input on these ideas and more. You can attend our meeting on 11 April and/or sign up to receive our emails by clicking this link

Parents' Association Student Reps

Being part of the Parents' Association is a fantastic experience as a senior student here at Dio. The role involves helping with school events such as the Dio Open Day, Year 9 Meet the Teacher evening and chapel services. It also involves attending meetings and presenting a student's voice and perspective.

The student reps for 2024 are Jesimae, Louise, Rachel and Freya. Our goal for 2024 is to make the year enjoyable for the girls and help create memories, meaning we enhance the Dio events that celebrate the Dio community we are all a part of. An event we would like to have this year and stay as a Dio tradition is a mother-daughter event. The idea behind creating a mother-daughter day is to have an event celebrating the relationships with the females in our lives and bringing together our extended community of mothers and other relatives.

We are excited for the year ahead and what this role will bring.
