In-boarding Weekend - Friday 14 to Saturday 15 February 2025

Our Boarding Council, led by Olivia Bell and Katie Wootten are excited to share their plans for our annual in-boarding weekend. They have been working hard to ensure that the activities are fun and engaging for all. This year, Friday evening will be a Valentine's Themed Dinner and Movie Night, with Saturday a trip to Paradice Ice Skating Botany Auckland where our boarders will not only have fun ice skating but also participate in laser tag, mini golf and escape rooms.

As a result of student feedback, students may apply for leave on Saturday from 5.00 pm on our return to Hamilton or may leave from Auckland from Paradice Iceskating at our departure time which is approximately 3.30 pm. Leave must be approved in advance with the relevant house parent.

For those that stay the whole weekend, attending The Waikato Cathedral Church of St Peter 11am Eucharist Service, a visit to Hamilton Gardens for a picnic lunch, rest, relaxation and a swim (weather permitting) is the plan for Sunday. 

We understand that some boarders cannot attend the weekend due to previous sporting, arts or family commitments. Our boarding council are planning additional events to continue to bond and connect across and within our boarding houses. If your daughter is unable to attend the boarding weekend at all or parts of the weekend, please email boarding@wdsg.school.nz.

Separate communication will be shared with more EOTC information about the trip to Paradice Ice Skating as soon as possible via Consent to Go. Boarders will leave for Auckland by bus by 8.00 am and return to Hamilton by 5.00 pm on Saturday. 

Completing the Consent to Go process before Friday 7 February 2025 5pm is appreciated.
