Across Kāhui Ako Maths Leader
Teaching across a range of schools across all primary levels, throughout the South Island, for a significant number of years has only increased my desire to see children be engaged in meaningful maths learning and be mathematically literate.
Maths has always been a passion and in a range of curriculum leadership roles I have relished the opportunity to work with other teachers, parents, experts as well as children. Hearing children say “I love maths” or “now I get it” is the ultimate reward that I strive for as a maths teacher.
Working collaboratively across the CoL to develop strategies to improve teaching and learning in maths is a very exciting prospect for everyone as it will bring together so many talents, resources and abilities for the benefit of children.
