The Countdown is on for the 2024 SVA Top Volunteer Award at Waimate High School!

SVA School Ambassadors: Hanne Dirker & Abbie Joyce —

The SVA Top Volunteer Award deadline is fast approaching so ensure you record your volunteer hours and make a positive impact in your community! 🌟

The SVA Top Volunteer Award goes to the student in each school who has completed the most hours of volunteering throughout the school year, as well as the overall top volunteer nationwide, so be sure to record as many hours as possible by midnight on 19th October. This is the final cut-off for this year’s award, with the winners being announced in the following days.

This year, the Student Volunteer Army have announced that the overall Top Volunteer in New Zealand will receive a brand new SVA Next Steps Grant of $1,000 to support the next phase of their journey - whether that’s further education, vocational training or essential tools for their future.

Haven't registered yet? Download the SVA App TODAY from the App Store or Google Play Store, and sign up to start logging hours. Alternatively, visit the Student Volunteer Army website and click on GET STARTED to create an account.

As hours are logged, students start to build a record of their service. School, community, and in-home volunteering all qualify and are combined into a single record of service. The Service Record includes the details of each logged event, total hours, dates of pins achieved and hours contributed toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Service records are useful to support applications for student leadership, tertiary and jobs.

Whether you’re on track to earn that top prize or not, Waimate's SVA School Ambassadors congratulate everyone for taking part in making our community a better place. Remember, every act of kindness counts towards a better community!
