On the 1st of October, Charlotte Carter, Emily Anderson and Rachael Hodder travelled to Wanaka to participate in the Kelly's Flat tournament.

This one day all girl tournament was hosted by Wanaka AFC. In mid-August the call was put out that West End Timaru was putting a girls team together but did not have enough on their roster to enter a grade 12 team. Trials were held and eventually a team was put together with girls from Temuka, Pleasant Point, 3 Timaru clubs and Waimate. 

Weekly training seasons with head coach Nick Fenn were an great opportunity for the girls to improve their skills and gel as a team. 

All the hard work paid off as on the day of the tournament it took no time for these young ladies to preform. Winning all games without conceiving a single goal ensured they got the top spot. 

This is the second all girl tournament this year for these girls and it is such a pleasure to be there to see them go from strength to strength in the sport.
