Kia ora koutou,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  This week, I will continue to provide a short, daily update on our COVID cases.

We have no new cases to report today. Our total number of students who have tested positive remains at four. I want to wish all of these students a speedy recovery. We can't wait to see you back at school. We have heard of one student needing to isolate as they are a household contact, bringing our total to five and we still have only two staff isolating as household contacts.

On a positive note (no pun intended) our attendance at school increased today, from 65% to 75% which is great to see. We have decided to remain at Stage 1 of our COVID response plan and will review again on Wednesday.  I have included a copy of our plan as a picture in this article. As I've said in previous emails, we are working hard to ensure that our students are safe by following all Public Health and Ministry of Education guidelines.

Can I please remind parents to contact us if your child is not going to be at school as early in the day as possible. Attendance information is critical at the moment so please email the school at gen@waimate-high.school.nz or telephone 689 8920 to record your absence.

If you have any questions or concerns then please get in touch. We are here to help.

Take care,

Jo Hunnikin
