Principal's Word - Term 2 Week 4

Jo Hunnikin —

Kia ora everyone,

Today we've been visited by the police who came in to play volleyball with our students at lunchtime. A great opportunity for our students to mix with the police in a positive way. Waimate High School coming away with the win.

We also held pink shirt day today and it was fantastic to see lots of our students wearing pink to support bully-free week. Our bake sale was hugely popular and raised more money for charity. We'll update you once we tallied the final figures.

Yesterday we held our Open Day - a great event attended by lots of families. It's always good to remind ourselves of what makes Waimate High School such an awesome school. Our student helpers did us proud and I'd like to thank the staff and especially Mrs Tagiaia for her awesome organisation on the day.

A final reminder that the industrial action is continuing and next week our Year 11s are rostered home on Thursday.

Have a great weekend,

Jo
