🏐 SISS NETBALL 🏐
Last week our Senior A netball team were away in Invercargill competing at the South Island Secondary Schools tournament. This was an awesome opportunity for the team to play against teams from right across the South Island. The girls were in B grade and started the tournament with a great win to kick off their pool play against Greymouth. The girls went through pool play needing to finish in the top two of their pool to make it through to the top 16, which was their goal.
The girls then took part in the next stages of crossovers where they had a couple of great wins. This set them up for finishing 13th overall out of the 32 teams.
The girls played some great netball and when they kept their error rates low it was beautiful netball to watch. Shooting accuracy was amazing throughout the whole tournament and the girls learnt that when you have this and low errors, magic happens.
A big thank you to Makikihi Fries who sponsored the girls with some of their costs. Thank you also to Hannah Soper who came along to help with coaching and to Andrea Soper who came as manager. We had a great time away and really grew as a playing group.
