Principal's Word - Term 3 Week 1
Kia ora everyone,
Welcome back to Term 3! A short article from me this week as I'm currently at a School Trustees conference in Rotorua. There's lots to read this week as our some of our students have been extremely busy over the holidays, competing in various sporting and other activities.
Earlier this week I sent all of our parents an email from the Board of Trustees seeking feedback on a proposal to make our school cellphone-free. This is a really important issue and your feedback is crucial to help us make the right decision so please complete the survey - its just 2 questions. You can also email me directly at school on jhunnikin@waimate-high.school.nz
A couple of events to bring to your attention are our Kāhui ako whānau hui, being held this Wednesday at 5 pm in our library and we have 3-way subject teacher conferencing coming up in Week 3 so please make appointments with your child's teachers. It is always a pleasure to welcome families into our school and we are looking forward to seeing you all at these events.
Finally, COVID is still out and about in the community so just a reminder that if your child has COVID that they must isolate for 7 days before returning.
Have a great weekend,
Jo
