Did you know there are currently around 15,000 people employed by the NZ Defence force, in either the Army, the Air force or the Navy?

Waimate High school students were treated to a visit from Patch, Hannah and Sam representing the NZ Defence Force.  

One of the highlights for our students was the push up competition where they tried to keep up with Patch. Johnny, Ben and Alex gave it a good nudge. 

Our students were awesome and asked really great questions. The main messages from our guests were that the opportunities in the defence force are unlimited and students need to stay engaged in school, particularly in their English, Maths and Science subjects.
