Principal's Word - Term 2 Week 10

Jo Hunnikin —

Kia ora everyone,

A great way to finish the term with lots of highlights! The formal is always a highlight for me - I love seeing the students all dressed up. The hall looked amazing and the students had a great time. A big thank you to all who made it such a special event, in particular our PTA,  canteen staff and ball committee members. I hope you've had a chance to look at the photos on our Facebook page.

Another highlight for me this week was the miniball final! What a close game it was with Tacko Tuesday taking the win. What impressed me the most was the attitude of all of the players who gave it their all and demonstrated all 3 of our values of respect, responsibility and resilience. Thank you to all of the coaches and parents who turn up every week to support our students - it really is appreciated.

This afternoon, we are looking forward to our House Choir event. The theme this term has been 'respect' so it is fitting that the compulsory song has been Aretha Franklin's classic song "Respect".

There are lots of things happening during the holidays too with students competing in all manner of competitions, from basketball, gymnastics, athletics, boxing, squash and Teen Ag competitions.  I wish you all the very best of luck!

Have a great break,

Jo
