Principal's Word - Term 3 Week 6
Kia ora everyone,
One of the privileges of being a principal is you get invited to all types of occasions. Last week I was invited to the citizenship ceremony for 2 of our students, George and Charlie Clavey. The ceremony was held here, at the Waimate District Council Chambers, and it was supported by the fantastic students of Waituna Creek who led the National Anthem. Congratulations kiwis!
This week I was contacted by an ex-Waimate High School student via a rare hand-written letter. Darcy Andrews attended Waimate High School from 1960 to 1963 and was wondering if we had any old photographs of him and his friends. Our wonderful Librarian, Sue Bailey, is on the case to send him some photographs and yearbook information. He wrote of his fond memories of the school and it is lovely to be able to help him with some photographic memories of his school days.
Awesome to see our young netballers winning their final last weekend and best of luck to our senior teams who are heading out on tournament week next week.
Have a great weekend,
Jo
