During the holidays, Waimate High School had two teams participating in the New Zealand Young Farmers National Competitions in Timaru.

Ruby Shortus and Maddie Matthews represented Aorangi in the Junior Young Farmers Competition. They competed in a range of events including modules, farmlet tasks, a speech and an exam. It was a busy day and they competed well, showing their skills and knowledge in all areas. They placed 8th overall at the national level

Cameron Lane, Santi Zimmerman and Fergus Lane represented Aorangi in the National Agrikids competition. They had a fantastic day working as a team to complete a range of modules, Race-Off and the AgriQuiz. They came away happy with how they competed and placed a very respectable 4th in Aotearoa New Zealand. 

A fantastic effort and a big thank you to all the people who supported them on their journey.
