Kia ora everyone,

Almost the end of term and despite the disrupted week, it has nonetheless been packed with activities.

Yesterday, I had a absolute pleasure of travelling to the South Island Agricultural Field Days at Kirwee with approximately 50 students, 7 parents and 2 other staff members. Despite it being muddy, we all had a fantastic time. I would like to thank the Waimate Opportunities Project who paid for the bus to transport us all there so any student who wanted to go could go. Trips like this go a long way to help raise the profile of the importance of agriculture, particularly in our community. Thanks to the parents who came with to Kirwee and to Trudy Gee for her planning and organisation of the trip.

Another mention goes to the parents who accompanied our Year 7 campers at the start of the week. Our Year 7 campers had lots of fun and had opportunities to establish positive relationships with their teachers and peers, as well as building confidence and resilience.

Next week, we have our academic assembly on Monday where we will be acknowledging those students who achieved Merit and Excellence endorsements in NCEA last year and on Wednesday school will open for 3-way conferencing, so students only attend with their parents for their conference. On the last day of term, Thursday, we will be holding our annual Pavement Art competition. The themes this year are Marvel, Pixar, Dreamworks and Disney movies/characters. We will also be having a "dress as your favourite movie/book character" themed non-uniform day to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House.

Have a great weekend,

Jo
