KORU GAMES 2023

Koru Games was held in Christchurch in the last week of term three.

Koru Games is a huge tournament held in Christchurch for year 7&8s over three days.  This year Waimate High School entered Hockey, 3v3 Basketball, Rugby, Netball and Squash.

Squash

Alex Thomas and Tyler Ali were the Squash Champions.  Placing 1st.  Congratulations boys.

Hockey

Our hockey team placed 7th in the competition, they all played so well and showed great sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

Netball

Our netball team place 11th in the competition.  These girls played with great determination and team spirit.  Congratulations girls.

Rugby

Our Rugby team placed 4th in the competition.  These boys come up against some pretty tough competition but all played so well giving it their all every game.

Girls 3v3 Basketball

Our 3v3 girls basketball team placed 3rd in the competition.  These girls really showed great team spirit coming up against last year rivals KNS and Cashmere in the top 3.  Congratulations girls.

Boys 3v3 Basketball

Our boys 3v3 basketball team placed 24th in the competition.  These boys never gave up giving every game their all.  Congratulations boys.

A huge thank you to John Thomas, Ben Matheson, Andrew Davis, Nicola Guy, Jamie Ottley, Sally Peters, Kacy Jarvis and Nicole Cooney for taking these students to the Koru Games.  I know the students absolutely loved it and have made some great memories.
