SOUTH CANTERBURY BASKETBALL IN GORE TOURNAMENT

Emily Cooney, Kayla Proudfoot and Briar Craig were playing in the South Canterbury Under 15 girls team.  They had a great tournament coming away undefeated having wins over Eastern Southland 62-22, Southland 69-14 and Eastern Southland 48-11.

On Saturday they headed to Invercargill to play James Hargest Senior A Girls team.  They played a longer game and only lost 102-100.  A very high scoring game. This was great experience for the South Canterbury girls as they were playing older more experienced girls.

Sajin Tamang was playing in the South Canterbury Under 17 boys team.  They had a fantastic weekend as well really coming together as a team. There results were a loss to Southland Maroon 48-34 and two wins against Eastern Southland 81-36 and Southland Gold 64-56.

At Easter all four of these players are heading to Rangiora for qualifiers.  Good luck to them all.
