WILLIAM PIKE - SURVIVAL SKILLS

The survival skills overnight trip to Gunns Bush.
    by Nicole Cooney

On Friday 3rd of March, the William Pike students took part in their first adventure.

The William Pike students constructed bivvy’s in the bush which they slept in for the night. They were strong, well-built and served as their shelter. They were put to the test early in the morning when the rain set in and apart from a few drips, they passed the test!

The students also completed a night solo along the Gunns Bush walking track. This involves spending time by themselves with no light on the track. Students heard the night time noises of the bush and all had stories to share. The group now look forward to their next adventure in term 2.
