SOUTH CANTERBURY SECONDARY SCHOOL BASKETBALL COMPETITION

This year Waimate High School entered 6 teams in the South Canterbury Secondary Schools Competition played on a Friday night in Timaru.  

Our junior boys made it to the final for the junior boys b grade in Timaru.  They had a nail biting semi final which was won on a free throw.  They finished 2nd in the competition.  Congratulations boys your have really grown throughout the season.  A massive thank you to Chris Thomas and Bruce Sew Hoy for coaching these boys. 

Our Junior girls played Craighead in the final night in Timaru for 5th and 6th place.  These girls have played really well throughout the season, improving as team every week.  They finished 6th in the competition.  A huge thank you to Finley Keen for coaching these girls this season.

Our B Boys have also had a great season.  Development for this team had been amazing.  They have learnt so much this season and really growing as players.  A huge thank you to Dana Paul for coaching these boys.

Our B girls have had a pretty tough season but have really shown perseverance throughout the Timaru competition.  These girls never gave up. Thank you to Nicole Cooney and Ben Liddy for coaching these girls.

Our Senior A Girls played their semi final against Timaru Girls High School.  They played so well but unfortunately went down.  Thank you to Ruby Cochrane for coaching the girls.

Our Senior A Boys played their semi final against Timaru Boys High School. They also played extremely well but unfortunately went down.  Thank you to Jason Sew Hoy for coaching them.
