WORKING BEE! THANK YOU!!!

    by Jo Hunnikin

The Agriculture and Horticulture students at Waimate High would like to say a big thank you to the Waimate Opportunities Project, parents, students and teachers who came along last Sunday to help clean up our new Agriculture and Horticulture learning spaces at the Waimate Racecourse. Your help was much appreciated and we are looking forward to using the facilities in the very near future.

Our first project will be Level 2 Agriculture where we are learning about growth and development in animals this term. We are raising chicks and measuring their growth and development. We have 24 one-day old chicks arriving soon and we’re wondering if anyone has a spare heat lamp we could borrow please? We need 4 in total to keep the new chicks warm. If you can help please contact Mrs Gee tgee@waimate-high.school.nz or leave a message with the school office.
