International News
Welcome to Term 1. We start the year with six International students from Japan and Thailand.
With the continued border closure our students were unable to return home. This is now the second year in a row where they have remained in New Zealand and were unable to see their families. It was a difficult decision but these brave students showed true courage to continue their studies here at Waimea College.
We planned lots of fun activities over the long summer break. A big thank you to Mr. Haines for taking us out on his boat! It was a stunning day on the water with fresh sashimi and plenty of snapper for dinner.
Introducing our 2022 Leaders

We are pleased to hear the Government has announced its 5-step plan to re-open New Zealand's borders. This is long awaited and very welcome news, and we are now busy preparing for the safe and gradual return of our valued International students.
