Waimea College team takes out top spot in National AquaBots Competition
NZAquaBots is an innovative underwater robotics program where youth teams build an underwater remotely operated vehicle then compete in New Zealand themed challenges.
The Nationals, run by the Ministry of Inspiration, were held at the Richmond Aquatic Centre on 26-27 March 2022. We are thrilled to report that our Waimea team 'Narwhal', consisting of Brooke Robinson, Caitlin Pilcher and Thorben Therkleson, took out first place in the College Division and now have the opportunity to compete in the US against teams from all around the world!
The International competition scheduled for early June will be held in Maryland, USA and the team will stay at the University of Maryland.
This is an amazing achievement and we wish them all the very best as they compete on the world stage!
