This year, we had two entries in the annual Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Competition hosted by Nayland College on 30 March 2025. All six local Secondary Schools took part this year – nearly 100 students performing 20 5-minute or 15-minute excerpts from the plays of Shakespeare.

Sofia Ching, Emma Brown and Lochie Wright performed a 5-minute excerpt from The Comedy of Errors and came away with Runner-up: Best 5-min Production (reserve to go to Nationals in Wellington) and Sofia won the Sister Leone Trophy for Sustained Vocal Management.

Juliet Thompson-Blythe and Maggie Paterson performed a 5-minute excerpt from Macbeth and came away with Best Tragedy and Maggie won the Rose Shepard Award for Best Actor.
