TSS Table Tennis
A total of 42 students took part in this event last term, it was a fantastic event and a lot of fun. Finn Brown, Josh Piggott and Alfie Rako won the Boys grade. Well done lads! Our girls’ team of Lily McFarland, Zoe Wing and Brooke Robinson placed 2nd.

Marlborough Boys Exchange
We sent four teams to Marlborough late last term to take part in the annual school exchange. We had wins with our Basketball, Hockey, and 1st XI Football teams and a loss with the 2nd XI Football. They all had a fantastic day playing sport in very wet conditions and came home with the trophy.

Well done to our Boys 1st XI team who have qualified for the NZSS Premier Football tournament. They will travel to Napier in August to compete. We wish you all the best.

SISS Junior Netball
Our 9A and 10A Netball teams recently travelled to Christchurch for the Junior South Island Secondary Schools netball tournament. The teams faced a mixture of weather, with freezing conditions on Day 1, torrential rain on Day 2 (with the Year 10s playing one game in horizontal rain before all games were cancelled), then remarkably sunny weather for the last day. The 9A team finished 21st and the 10A team finished 29th.

Orienteering
Congratulations to Eddie Swain who took part in the NZ Secondary Schools Orienteering Champs near Waikuku where he won the Intermediate Boys Grade in the Long-distance event and placed second in the Sprint Champs. Eddie will be travelling to Australia in September to represent New Zealand in the NZSS Orienteering team.

Sailing
Well done to Victoria Charles who was invited to travel to Rarotonga in the holidays as part of the annual NZTSA Rarotonga Winter Training Camp. The sailors had the opportunity to race the local Vaka boats instead of the usual Sunburst dinghies. Sailors from Kerikeri to Dunedin flew out to take advantage of this great opportunity.

Volleyball
Lilly Zwart
played in the New Zealand Junior Women’s Volleyball team in July in a five match test series against Australia. The team were undefeated and came away with the Jenny Kirk Trophy.

Basketball
Maia Jones
travelled to Jordan as part of the New Zealand U17 Basketball team to play in the FIBA U16 Women’s Asian Championship. Finishing 4th in this tournament qualified them to travel to Hungary to compete in the FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup where they finished 12th. Maia has also been invited to attend an NBA Basketball Without Borders Camp in Canberra in August. She is one of only three girls to be invited from New Zealand!

We also had a large number of students representing themselves, Waimea College and Nelson/Tasman these school holidays. Well done to everyone!!
