It’s hard to believe we are nearing the end of the term. We currently have 83 international students. Sadly, we say goodbye to 9 students at the end of Term 1 but welcome 7 new international students at the start of Term 2.

Despite some tricky road works, our School Athletics Day was a fantastic success! Our young athletes poured their hearts into every event, showing incredible determination and spirit. We couldn't be prouder!

NZQA information booklets will be given out to all Senior Students during Ako classes over the next week or so.

Mary Poppins Production Camp 22 – 24 March

Our first camp of the year was on in Week 8 of Term 1, with 9G, 9E and 9C attending.

At Waimea College we like to let our students know when they are doing the right thing. Our “Strive Point” system is our way of recognising students who are consistently demonstrating our school values. We call them Strive Points after our school motto “Semper Contendite” - Latin for “Always Strive”

In 2024 we will continue with live reporting for our senior students (Years 11, 12 & 13).

Students must remain on the school grounds during the school day (8.45am - 3.10pm).

Wellbeing is a very broad term which can be defined as ‘feeling good and functioning well’. At Waimea College we explicitly teach wellbeing in Ako lessons, giving students tools to thrive.

We are looking for ideas to help us celebrate Matariki!

As the days are getting cooler a reminder that students are required to wear correct uniform to school. Hoodies are not part of the school uniform.

If your student is going to be absent, please notify the College by using one of the options below.
