Rockshop Rockfest
Making the Waimea Intermediate newsletter two weeks in a row is all part of being a part time Rockstar!!
Last month the boys participated in the Rockshop Rockfest at Broadgreen Intermediate along with 15 other bands from around the Nelson region.
This event gave the boys the opportunity to not only perform with professional sound and lighting but to perform in front of other musicians who appreciate good music and who were also very impressed with the way the boys played.
Waimea Rockband tutor, Antoni Neal, was extremely proud of the bands and said that credit must go to the boys. "It has been a difficult year to get together for our practices but when we do, the boys take it very seriously and put in a good effort to play to the high level that is expected of them".
November 24 - 27th is Arts Week at Waimea and the rockband along with choir, kapahaka, stageband, dance and many more will be performing to schools in our area, their peers here at school and then to their families at the Hope Community Hall. These performances will probably be the biggest challenge yet for the boys as it is not easy playing in front of your peers and parents.
