Friday 18th November - School will be closing at 1pm for NZEI Te Riu Roa meeting

WIS —

Teacher Union Meeting – Friday 18th November 1:30 pm. Waimea Intermediate School teachers who are members of NZEI Te Riu Roa will be attending a paid union meeting.

The purpose of these meetings is for teachers to discuss the priorities for the renegotiation of their collective agreement in. Issues being discussed, such as school staffing levels, directly impact on the education of your children. These meetings are a critical component of the negotiation process, and it is the legal right of all members to attend a meeting and have their say. While there will be some impact on the usual school programme that day, we have adjusted the programme to minimise disruption.

Our regular school day will conclude at 1 pm on this day with an afternoon session available to students who require supervision. We envisage that many of our bus students will remain at school and local students, where possible, will have an alternative early finish. This notice is to provide you with some time to consider your options and a follow up survey will be emailed to ask you if your child will require supervision or not from 1pm Friday 18th November. Thank you in advance for your continued support.
