Daffodil Day - Te Rā Daffodil, Friday 27 August

Hannah Bibby —

We are proud to be supporting the Cancer Society this Daffodil Day. The Cancer Society provides free support and information, funds lifesaving cancer research and advocates health promotion initiatives to reduce the risk of cancer for future generations.

Cancer Society relies on the support from schools like ours to continue to provide free accommodation, nursing and psychology services for patients and their families.

Students are encouraged to wear yellow to school on this day and bring a gold coin donation. There will be a coin trail where students can add their donation to on the day. The student action group is busy preparing fun activities for the day, including a bake sale, so bring extra coins along to buy some goodies and continue your support. Students will be able to purchase ‘race balls’ for a new daffodil day event at WIS. They will cost $2 and can be purchased in Week 5, leading up to Friday’s race. At the end of the race students can chose to either keep their ball or donate it to the school.

Thank you in advance for your support, if you would like to start donating money now, you can do so through our school link https://www.daffodilday.org.nz/waimeaintermediate
