From the Library - Reading Challenge

Over term 2 our school reading challenge was to see “How Many Words Can WIS Read?” Over the term students tracked their word count and the winning classes and top students were revealed on the last Thursday of term. The top class won a free morning tea in the library and all of the top classes won books for their classroom.

The Top 5 classes were:                          

1 – Room 5 – 12, 639, 993 words            

2 – Room 21 – 12, 353, 648 words           

3 – Room 22 – 11, 988, 594 words           

4 – Room 10 – 11, 852, 470 words           

5 – Room 8 – 11, 724,482 words                                                        

Top Students were:

1 – Emme Strange – 6, 763, 000 words

2 – Sonja Schneider – 4, 873, 414 words

3 – Elijah Watson – 4, 332, 466 words

4 – James Harper – 4, 324, 952 words

5 – Alice Cameron – 3, 643, 742 words

6 – Lorea Puche Struben – 3, 009, 652 words

All students who read 1 million words or more will receive certificates this term at Waka Assemblies. These students have accomplished an amazing goal of reading 1 million words or more this term.
