Results from our school triathlon and the inter school event

After a fun teams triathlon the week prior, we had a great turnout for our individual event on 23 Feb with around 150 students taking part.

Results

Year 7 Boys:  Jobe McAulay 1st, William Seymour 2nd, Edward Swain 3rd, Coen Williams 4th

Year 7 Girls: Grace Cliffe 1st, Gizelle Rynvos 2nd, Grace Shirley 3rd, Tessa Honey 4th

Year 8 Boys: Ben Walker 1st, Jonty Bond 2nd, Sam Charles 3rd, Danyon Oakes 4th

Year 8 Girls: Charlotte Taylor 1st, Amber McLeod 2nd, Brydie Paterson 3rd, Brooke Bowen 4th.

Many students chose to take part in the Port Nelson interschool triathlon at Rabbit Island on 6 March, taking part as individuals and making up teams.  With each athlete awarded points for the placing, we managed to pip Waimea College for the top spot by one point and come home with the trophy for top overall school.  A fantastic result for each and every WIS triathlete who challenged themselves to compete in a big event.

Julia Kersten won the Under 13 girls individual race while our under 12 team of Alice Mitchener, Sandi Hayday and Tessa Honey lead the field of teams.
