Three Waimea Intermediate students played in the Fulton Hogan Basketball League on a Sunday Evening.

The Waimea Phoenix team consisting of Waimea Intermediate students Ric Stratford, Theo Wilson and Destiny Taylor-Gibbins played in Division 3.

The team was very strong from the beginning and under took practices during their lunch time. They won all their matches and were the Division 3 Championship Winners.
