Blue Light Police Challenge
On Tuesday this week I took 16 WIS students over to Motueka for the Blue Light Police Challenge. These students were nominated from their syndicates and were a pleasure to have for the day.
The WIS students were put in groups of 4 and rotated around the 8 activities, they worked really well together and had great encouragement for each other.
It was such a cool experience, the activities were:
- Rock Climbing
- PCT course
- Stretcher races
- Mine course
- Fire House
- Dog Handlers
- Pull the Booze Bus and Hand Cuffs
- AOS (armed offenders squad)
A big thank you to our 3 parents that took transport over to the event, it was much appreciated!
Here are some of the comments from the students about the day.
"Rock Climbing - Reaching for that next hold, not knowing whats going to happen next, whether you fall or just manage to keep your grip. That's why my favourite thing was the thrilling rock climb". Milla Baldwin
"I liked the rock climbing wall because you can learn to lookout around your surroundings and the officers were really encouraging". Sophie Pemberton
"My favourite things were the PCT challenge and the Fire one". Adam Hobbs
I really enjoyed the PCT course because it was really fun and Challenging. The day was a really great opportunity to get an insight on what the police do on a daily basis." Lily Trench
"My favourite was the PCT course, it was a very enjoyable day and I learnt heaps". Micaiah Sampson
"I think the overall experience of the Blue Light Police Challenge was fantastic, with a total of 8 activities it was hard to choose a favourite, but if i had to it would have to be the PCT course because the course contained many obstacles and lots of team sportsman ship." Aiden McMillan
