On September 9th WIS had five teams competing in the annual Academic Quiz at Waimea College.

There were 24 intermediate teams competing from across the region, and they had to answer questions about:

* Science and the Environment
* Technology and Engineering
* Art
* Maths
* Society

One of our teams got FIRST OVERALL, and they won a trophy and $300 ($50 each)! We are extremely proud of these six students: Charlie Bryce, Brooke Robinson, Xanthe Southward, Amelie Purdie, Zach Ellis and Eise Tiysen. This is extra-impressive because all six team members are Year 7 students, and they were competing against Year 7 and Year 8 students from across the region.

Another WIS student won a prize for the best individual costume. Congratulations to Asha Lyall for her outstanding Mad Hatter costume!
