WIS Writing Competition – Let the Creativity Flow!

Term 4 WIS Creative Story Writing Competition

Calling all budding writers in Year 7 & 8!
WIS is excited to launch our annual Creative Writing Competition, and we want to see your imagination come to life on the page!

This is a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their storytelling skills, explore new ideas, and express themselves through words. Whether your child loves writing fantasy adventures, heartfelt tales, or mysterious plots, this competition is the perfect platform to shine.

✍️ Competition Details:

  • Theme: Creative Writing (open genre)

  • Word Limit: Maximum 400 words

  • Open to: Year 7 & 8 students

  • Due Date: Friday Week 8

Students are encouraged to write an original story with a clear beginning, middle, and end. Entries should include interesting characters, vivid settings, and descriptive language that brings the story to life.

🏆 Judging Criteria:

Entries will be judged on the following:

  • Creativity and originality of the story

  • Use of descriptive language

  • Clear structure (beginning, middle, end)

  • Quality of editing
    (spelling, punctuation, paragraphing, vocabulary, grammar, and meaning)

  • Word count under 400 words

📤 How to Submit:

Students can submit their entries to their classroom teacher. Please ensure the story includes the student’s name, class, and title of the story.
