Earlier in September I had the opportunity to compete in my first powerlifting nationals after competing in the sport for less than a year. For squats I hit 130kg, for bench I hit 90kg and for deadlifts I lifted 165kg, reaching a total of 385kg. Within my age category and weight class, I had the best bench in New Zealand which is a huge achievement that I didn’t expect to obtain. I look forward to seeing how far I can go with powerlifting.
