World Vision 40 Hour Famine - Support us now!
Waimea Intermediate are raising money for the World Vision 40 Hour Famine which is helping people in Sub-Saharan Africa affected by the Hunger Pandemic who are struggling to Survive. We are supporting the 40 Hour Famine by having a Hype Day and encouraging students to do a 40 hour challenge. Our Fundraising goal for WIS is a very ambitious $10,000.
How the World Vision 40 Hour Famine Works:
Participants commit to doing a challenge or going without something for a length of time (often 40 hours) and ask people to sponsor them. Even donations as little as $6 can be life-changing for someone. Participants can choose what challenge they want to do – common challenges include 40 hours without technology, furniture or even talking! Students can choose to do a challenge for a shorter period of time if they prefer.
Hype Day
On Friday 25 June we are having a school Hype Day. Students are encouraged to wear orange casual clothing to school with a gold coin donation. This will all go towards the 40 Hour Famine. We are also selling cupcakes with orange icing (World Vision's colour) for $2 at the canteen on the Hype Day. You can order your cupcake by filling out the form (available from Room 3) and handing it in to Room 3 before Tuesday 22 June. Bringing back an order form guarantees you a cupcake, but if you don’t then there may be some cupcakes available for purchase on the day. On the Hype Day there will be a fun (optional) whole school game of Capture the Flag at lunchtime.
Create your Online Fundraising Page

2. Click on ‘Sign up Now’.
3. Enter your school email address and follow the prompts to create your own personal fundraising page.
4. Share your fundraising page with Family, Friends, Neighbours and more! Let’s all get behind this great cause and raise as much money as we can!
