Denise Lee — June 6, 2018
Preparation and rehearsals are well underway for our ShowQuest performance at the Trafalgar Centre on the 26th of June at 7pm.
Our performance is entitled ‘Mermaid Tears: Ocean of Plastic’. Inspired by the students’ passion to reduce plastic from our environment, in particular our oceans.
It has been impressive to see the students’ commitment to this project during both modules and lunchtime rehearsals.
The design team have been working tirelessly to create awesome costumes for the Plastic Invaders and Sea Creatures. These are looking amazing and we cannot wait to see the finished outfits.
The extension art group are busy designing some amazing props for the show. The jellyfish, shark and waves are looking fantastic.
We have three dance groups who are choreographing and practicing for the performance, RTT – boys group led by Mrs Richards, Plastic Invaders – hip hop dancers led by Hannah, Chey and Nikita and The Sea Creatures – contemporary dancers led by Sam, Lexie and Ashleigh. It has been heartwarming to see the girls leadership skills develop and grow throughout the process. The teamwork of everyone involved is tremendous to watch.
