Denise LeeFebruary 12, 2025

Open to all students. All entries must be handed into their class teacher by Friday 28th of March – Week 8.

Theme: Tu Hono - To Join, Bond, Connect

At Waimea Intermediate, we believe in the power of connection. We are building a connected and respectful learning environment, where every student feels a sense of belonging. We experience success when we work together, embracing our differences and celebrating what makes each of us unique. Our RISE and WISE values guide us in creating a positive learning environment for all. This poetry competition invites you to explore what Tu Hono means to you.

Your Challenge:

Write a poem that reflects the theme of Tu Hono – to join, bond, and connect. Consider how we connect with each other, how we build respectful relationships, and how working together helps us achieve success. Think about how our RISE and WISE values contribute to a positive learning environment and how we can create a school where everyone feels accepted and valued.
