On your marks. Get set. GO!
On Tuesday the 20th of August, Cross Country began. The air was filled with excitement, nerves, and energy. Everyone was cheering each other on. It was a very nice but windy event. Ahi, Wai, and Whenua both showed great Courage, Ownership, Respect, and Empathy during the whole time we were there.
“CLAP”The wooden clappers started off every race with a bang. Everyone leaped forward and started running. It sounded like a stampede of wild animals all running together in a herd, there was lots of cheering and fun.
It was extremely cool to watch.
The Course was long and tiring. Every participant made it to a steep dirty hill, ran up, and hit the gas going straight through the chute and across the finish line. But Whenua on the other hand had to go through the gully path around the field once and into the finish line. It looked like a real challenge but every participant crossed the finish line with their head held high. Puffing and panting everyone should be proud of themselves.
