Dance NZ Made 2023 Competition

Amber Ludwig —

Waipahihi School showcased its exceptional talent at the highly anticipated Dance NZ Made this week.

The Minions and Man with a Hex groups took to the stage to show off their amazing dance skills on Wednesday Night. The students represented Waipahihi beautiful both on stage and throughout the day, where they were able to attend workshops to improve their dance skills.

All the work the children, parents and teachers have been putting in, finally paid off as they got to stand up proudly in front of the audience and dance. Even being a part of the competition is an awesome experience, in addition, our Zombies got 2nd Runner up!

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Georgie and Stacey, whose makeup and costume wizardry enhanced the visual appeal of our dancers. Behind the scenes, Mrs. Goddard worked tirelessly, ensuring that everything ran seamlessly. Although she was unable to make it on the night, her hard work allowed the children to shine. None of this would have been possible without the support of our parents, from attending practices, involvement and encouragement of their children. There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to give the children the opportunity to be involved in Dance NZ made, so a big thank you to all who helped in someway.

The Dance NZ Made 2023 Competition not only showcased our students' dance abilities but also emphasized the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and creative expression. It exemplified the holistic approach to education that we uphold at Waipahihi School.

We couldn't be prouder of our dancers and the exceptional representation they brought to our school.

Congratulations once again to all the participants for their outstanding efforts. You have made Waipahihi School proud!
