Year 3 - 6 Cross Country Races, Tuesday 17th May 11:00am -11:50am

This year we will be running our school cross country race on the Wairakei School grounds. 

There will be races for boys and girls from year 3 to 6. The races will follow a route set out around the school (see map). This will be 1 lap for year 3 and 4 (approx 1km) and 2 laps for years 5 and 6.

On the day students wear their usual school uniform with sensible shoes to run in. If they wish to bring particular running shorts, they may change into their shorts at break time before the races begin.

Parents, caregivers and whānau are invited to come to school for the cross country, at 10:50am and support the students in the running of their races.

Due to the current Orange CPF setting the following will apply:

• Please enter the school using the main driveway gate. Signing in is not required.

• Proceed to the viewing area by going across the basketball court, behind the library and head towards the middle playground.

• From the middle playground spectators will be able to see the waiting children, the start/finish and significant parts of the racing.

• Please do not approach the children’s area. At the conclusion of all racing your child will be invited to briefly come to you. At this stage please leave the school grounds via the same way you entered.

This plan is to ensure all children are distanced from general visitors.
