Our Learning through Play approach and our consistent use of social stories to support our behaviour curriculum, has been published by the Education Gazette.

The editors of Education Gazette Tukutuku Kōrero have written and published an absolutely brilliant article on 9 November sharing the work our school has been doing with Learning through Play and our use of social stories. Both of these areas of development are explicitly in our school strategic plan.

The editors write, "A schoolwide focus on play-based learning and social coaching at Wairakei School is helping ease the transition from early childhood education and developing engaged tamariki with a disposition for future learning."
