Building work update
Blocks One and Two will be ready for occupation for term 2. The Wairere and Wai-iti learning communities will be able to move into their new learning spaces and block 3 will begin its transformation.
Our staff have worked amazingly to adapt to their temporary working conditions during the building work, even though I know that the novelty of working in the hall is wearing a bit thin. While the Wairere learning community will be able to move from that space into their new learning space, the Wai-iti learning community will also be moving from their current temporary space into their new learning spaces in block 2. The Otākaro learning community will remain in their temporary space in the hub for most of term 2 while their new learning spaces are created.
Block 3 will be cordoned off during the holidays so that work can begin in those spaces. There will still be pedestrian access for our school community along the side of the building and between the playground and the fencing to access the rest of the school and ensure that the entranceway by the shops remains operational. I wish to also thank Brosnan, our builders, for accommodating the needs of the school when constructing safety plans for the building work.
There will be ongoing external work carried out, but on the most part, there will be little disruption to the normal everyday running of the school. Further building work on other parts of the school is likely to take place at the end of the year.
New furniture has been ordered and will also be in place for the first two blocks and their reveal.
Keep an eye out for notification of a blessing ceremony we will be having near the end of the holidays.
