Start of the Year in Wairere 2022

Amanda Bentley - February 5, 2022

We have got off to a great start in Wairere!

2022 is shaping up to be a wonderful year in Wairere with the students starting enthusiastically on Wednesday. We have been involved in 'get-to-know you' activities and familiarising ourselves with the Wairere learning space. The year 6 tamariki have all stepped up as role models, guiding the year 5's, in the way they model keen learning attitudes and understanding of expectations and routines.

We have been very impressed with the way students have adjusted to the wearing of masks, displaying maturity and a sense of personal responsibility. Due to the current red light restrictions we had kapa haka outdoors, all tamariki enjoyed the opportunity to practice their skills again.

So far we have been working on; an art project, Treaty of Waitangi activities, physical education, collaborative games (Capture the Flag) and statistics.

The Wairere teachers are excited to be teaching your wonderful children this year. Welcome back everyone!!
